Definitions
Here are some terms you'll see when selecting a plan. Understanding these terms will help you choose the pricing plan that's best for your unique needs.
Contact
An individual member of your audience.
Marketing Contact
A contact that is enabled for "Marketing" automation. A contact can be either a marketing contact or non-marketing contact. Only marketing contacts may be used for marketing automation. Each plans' marketing contact limit corresponds to the peak number of marketing contacts within the month period.
You may have an audience of 10,000 contacts but only 1,000 contacts are marked as Marketing Contacts, then we will count 1,000 as used marketing contacts. If you then immediately reduce to 900 contacts as Marketing Contacts, then still 1,000 will be counted as used marketing contacts for the month.
Exceeding the marketing contact limit will result in an overage fee. Overage fees differ by plan and details can be found in Settings > Subscription.
Email Sends
A term we use to measure the number of individual emails you send. Each email sent to an individual contact counts as 1 send. For example, 1 email sent to 500 contacts equals 500 sends.
Attempts to send emails exceeding your plan's email sends limits will simply fail to send. Upgrade to a higher plan to increase your email sends limit.
Overage Fees
You may sometimes see additional charges on your monthly Spreeflo bill. This is based on your marketing contacts storage per contact pricing tier. If your marketing contacts total or email sends total exceeds the limit of your plan, we won't interrupt your service. Instead, you'll see an additional charge on your monthly bill.
How It Works
You are allowed storage for unlimited contacts for free if these contacts are non-marketing contacts, i.e marketing status is set to non-marketing. Non-marketing contacts cannot be automated for marketing by campaigns or journeys.
When you choose a paid monthly plan, you'll decide how many contacts you want to mark as available for automation in Spreeflo. The number you choose determines your contact pricing tier. Non-marketing contacts and cleaned contacts don't count toward your marketing contact limit. You can change your marketing contact limit anytime.
Sometimes, the number of contacts that you want to automate for marketing grow more than you expected. If you go over the marketing contact limit for your contact pricing tier, we'll charge you for an extra, smaller block of 100 marketing contacts. If you go over your limit by more contacts than what comes with one add-on block, you'll be charged for multiple blocks.
The price of the add-on contact block depends on your plan and contact pricing tier. If you're logged in and subscribed, we'll show you the number of marketing contacts included, plus the cost of add-on blocks at Settings > Subscription.
Overage fees can range from $0.45 per additional 100 marketing contacts to $1.20 per additional 100 marketing contacts, depending on your plan type and contact pricing tier. Generally, the larger the contact pricing tier, the lower the cost per additional 100 marketing contacts.
About peak marketing contact total
We calculate your monthly bill based on your feature plan and contact pricing tier, as well as the peak marketing contact total during your billing period. This means that even if your marketing contact total decreases, your bill will reflect the highest number of marketing contacts stored in your account that month.
Tip: Contacts that will no longer benefit from marketing automation should be marked as non-marketing contacts. Non-marketing contacts are not counted towards your marketing contact limit.
